On 17th January, Premier Li Keqiang chaired a forum at the Zhongnanhai to listen to experts, scholars and entrepreneurs, consulting with them on the "Government Work Report (Draft)”. Dean Xue Lan and other representatives participated and offered suggestions.

Dean Xue Lan suggested that Chinese government should strengthen social regulation and foster innovation by improving market framework conditions. Compensation system in knowledge-intensive industries such as education and medical services should be reformed. Other representatives also talked about their opinion on development and progress of the country in the past year from their own point of views.
Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli, Liu Yandong, Wang Yang, Ma Kai, and State Councilor Yang Jing, Wang Yong, also participated in the forum.
