Chengzhi Yin is serving as the executive director of Master of Development Practice (MDP) Program and an associate professor in the School of Public Policy and Management at Tsinghua University, China. He teaches the course of Urbanization & Social Development for MPA and MDP students. He is also the Tsinghua faculty who is responsible for the Global Classroom: Foundations of Sustainable Development Practices. He used to be the Deputy Director of the Policy Research Office of Tsinghua University. His research interests include urban and regional planning as well as urban governance. He is particularly interested in development regulation in urban and rural development, and urbanization in developing countries. Mr. Yin holds two Ph. D. degrees. One is Ph.D. in human geography from Peking University, China, in 2006. The other is Dr. –Ing. in urban planning from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, in 2008. He is also a German Chancellor Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, winner of the Special Award for Canadian Studies, and a member of the Beijing Urban Management Society.
